F123: Exceptional large commissioned 'Battle of Granada 1492' finely hand carved bust chess set,kings 14cms tall.
Created by master carver DK, each piece exquisitely modeled, white king signed.
Light side represents the classical European side, dark side represents the Moors.
Each piece is unique including the pawns, the white bishops are represented as courtier fools. To give an idea of scale, the kings bases are 6.5cms across.
The white side is carved and turned from a variant of maple wood, the dark side are made of ebony.
The set comes in two fine custom fitted cases made of figured sagwan wood (a form of teak). The cases are large at 25"x13"x4.5" each.
