F121: A rare antique carved Swiss set depicting the Austrian vs the French. Very finely carved, the knights and rooks being particularly eye catching. 19th century.
Kings 8.7cms tall, knights 9cms, rooks 9.2cms pawns 8.6cms.
The dark French side features Emperor Napoleon. Austrian side in fruitwood and the French side in rosewood.
A collector friend allowed us to take custodianship for this set, one of our new favorites.
