A very unusual miniature early European games compendium. Probably French and incorporating a mahogany inlaid chess and backgammon fold-over gamesbox, an Directoire chess set, full set of backgammon counters, full set of dominoes (28), 2 dice shakers, 5 dice and 2 cribbage pegs. Games-box measures 15 cms. x 12 cms x 2 cms (open)

This compendium is remarkable in that, given it is probably at least 300 years old, it still contains all of its original contents numbering well over 100 small pieces.
